Motorcyclists are highly mobile but less visible and therefore more vulnerable. It is important to remember to:
- check your mirrors and blind spots before turning
- look behind you before opening your door or changing lanes
- be aware that most motorcycle indicators don’t automatically turn off like other motor vehicles’ – don’t be fooled by an indicator that stays on
- acknowledge motorcyclists always need a whole lane. At any time a motorcyclist may suddenly swerve or slow to avoid road hazards.
