The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility and viability of increased use of coastal shipping along the New Zealand’s western seaboard – the western blue highway proposal. The study was funded through the 2008/09 Domestic Sea Freight Development Fund (DSFDF) and was undertaken by Warwick Walbran Consulting Ltd for Port Taranaki Ltd.
