Research Report 204 Increased effective life of porous asphalt

Published: | Category: Activity management , Research programme , Research & reports | Audience: General

A new mix design system for porous asphalt based on maximising the effective void content, but maintaining sufficient strength through the use of polymer-modified bitumen, was developed and trialled.

The skid resistance, permeability, and noise characteristics were compared with those obtained for a control using the current TNZ P/11 mix, and found to be similar or better.
