This is a reference for temporary traffic management on state highways and local roads. It includes levels of temporary traffic management, signs and forms used, and a series of sample traffic management plans.
DISCLAIMER NZTA has developed a new approach to temporary traffic management on New Zealand’s state highways and roads. The New Zealand guide to temporary traffic management (NZGTTM) outlines a risk-based approach to TTM which aligns with WorkSafe’s Good Practice Guidelines: Keeping healthy and safe while working on the road or roadside. To show support for this new approach, CoPTTM will be superseded by the NZGTTM as the preferred guidance for managing risk at worksites. From 1 November 2024, CoPTTM will still be accessible on the NZTA website, however it will not be updated or maintained by NZTA. NZTA recommends RCAs and contractors to follow the NZGTTM.
