This note is to advise the release of New Zealand Country Amendment to NSW RMS Guide to Slope Risk Analysis and the Rockfall Protection Structures design and maintenance guidance documents.

Purpose

This note is to advise the release of the following:

  • New Zealand Country Amendment to NSW RMS Guide to Slope Risk Analysis Version 4, April 2014
  • Rockfall Protection Structures Design Guide for Waka Kotahi Infrastructure
  • Rockfall Protection Structures Maintenance Guidance for Waka Kotahi Infrastructure

New Zealand Country Amendment to NSW RMS Guide to Slope Risk Analysis shall apply to all assessed risk level (ARL) assessments undertaken by accredited persons commissioned after the date of publication of this notice.

Rockfall Protection Structures Design Guidance and Rockfall Protection Structures Maintenance Guidance shall be considered in design and maintenance of slope protection design and maintenance commissioned after the date of publication of this notice.

General information 

The released documents form part of the Waka Kotahi Slope Hazard Strategy, the documents supporting which are illustrated below. The documents are inter-related and support the outcomes of each other to provide a slope hazard management approach for Waka Kotahi infrastructure whilst embracing existing publications including those of MBIE and CIRIA.
