Waka Kotahi acts as the land transport regulator and delivers on land transport policy. We work alongside a number of other government organisations as part of our regulatory role, including NZ Police, ACC, territorial authorities, the Transport Accident Investigation Commission and Worksafe.
Sea transport is regulated by Maritime New Zealand and air transport is regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority.
