  • What's happening and next steps

The status of the SH2 Melling transport improvements remains in an Interim Project Alliance Agreement (IPAA) phase.

We expect the IPAA to continue until December 2024. The Project Alliance Agreement (PAA) will then be signed, with construction scheduled to begin in 2025.

The IPAA phase is done to better understand the challenges of all parts of the programme before committing to the construction contract beginning. This phase also provides an opportunity for greater innovation, value engineering initiatives, and design or material use refinements to potentially reduce costs.
