This section provides guidance around the development of approved organisation and regionally delivered Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency programmes for input to regional land transport programmes (RLTPs),the Waka Kotahi national programme, the Road Policing Programme, and the National Land Transport Programme. Development of activity class programmes, eg road maintenance programmes, is covered under the activity classes and work categories pages.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s Investment Assessment Framework (IAF) is used to assess and prioritise programmes, plans, projects and other activities.

This section contains information about the assessment of activities by the various activity classes.

Activity classes and work categories are groupings of similar outputs from investments through the National Land Transport Programme (NLTP). Investment proposals have to identify the correct activity classes and work categories as part of the NLTP inclusion and funding approval process.

This section provides information about the different investment assurance activities of Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency. to ascertain that investments through the National Land Transport Programme have achieved the expected benefits at the expected cost.
