GPS 2024 will consider all funding sources and include an expectation that all investment decisions will align with the Emissions Reduction Plan and the National Adaptation Plan.
Waka Kotahi will rely on RLTPs to identify and prioritise VKT related activities for investment in the 2024-27 NLTP period. This relates to both NLTF funding decisions (made by Waka Kotahi) and Crown funding decisions (made by the Minister and informed by Waka Kotahi advice).
VKT reduction activities go beyond the traditional scope of RLTPs and Waka Kotahi will provide updated RLTP guidance to better support Approved Organisations to capture the latest developments.
This work will be undertaken in collaboration with the Transport Special Interest Group (TSIG) and intends to leverage off work done by Taranaki Regional Council.
