Reason for the decision
- The assessment profile for this activity has been determined as being of high strategic fit, medium effectiveness and medium economic efficiency.
- This project will contribute to the NZTA’s Investment and Revenue Strategy as it aims to significantly increase public transport patronage during peak times in a major urban area with severe congestion and will help encourage greater use of multi modal public transport trips. The project will also contribute to the LTMA objectives relating to economic development, by providing improved public transport connections between major city and town centres, and to environmental sustainability, by encouraging commuters to use public transport rather than private motor vehicles.
- We confirm that the matters in sections 20(2) and 20 (5) of the LTMA have been satisfied, and that the matters in section 20(3) have been taken into account.
