Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises the Gladstone Road bridge on State Highway 35 in Gisborne will be closed from 10am this morning to remove debris from the underside of the bridge.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency will reopen State Highway 35 between Gisborne and Tolaga Bay and Potaka and the Ruatoria intersection with SH35 for four hours between 2pm and 6pm this afternoon to allow people to get home or travel for essential purposes ahead of more heavy rain setting in again later this evening. Waka Kotahi will reassess in morning, with a view to open at 10am.

March has seen a large increase in roadworks across Taranaki as contractors work hard to complete an ambitious programme of reseals for the region’s state highways.
People are advised to plan ahead for roadworks on State Highway 3 north of New Plymouth, with works taking place at both the Awakino Tunnel Bypass and on Mt Messenger next week.

Road users of State Highway 1 in Hātepe, south of Taupō, are advised that four weeks of essential road maintenance work commences on Sunday 6 March. This work will be completed in two stages to minimise delays whilst ensuring the work is completed safely for both road users and crews on site.
