The NZ Transport Agency’s project team are returning to the design table after a reassessment of costs for the final stage of its shared cycling and pedestrian pathway between Dunedin and Port Chalmers indicated the budget would be exceeded.
Variable speed electronic signs will begin operating on Christchurch’s Northern Motorway from Tuesday after Waitangi Weekend, 9 February, to improve traffic flows during morning peak-hour congestion.
From this Sunday, 31 January, manhole or service covers running southbound along State Highway 1 from Duke St, North Dunedin, to Andersons Bay will be lifted and re-levelled.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 5 February. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
The NZ Transport Agency has published information on travel speeds recorded by GPS units fitted to vehicles in the agency’s corporate fleet for the six-monthly period from July to December 2015.
