The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that during the weekend of 20-21 January 2018, a section of Shands Road will be closed (between approximately 374 and 523 Shands Road) including the intersection with Marshs Road.
Christchurch drivers are advised to avoid State Highway 1 through Rolleston this afternoon if at all possible. A long stretch of highway lane is being repaired and there are delays on either side of Rolleston as traffic is restricted to one lane with Stop/Go

The left hand southbound lane on State Highway 1 at Western Hills Drive will be closed just south of Manse Street for repairs and resurfacing. The other southbound lane will remain open.

The NZ Transport Agency advises people driving between Picton and Christchurch tomorrow, Friday, 12 January, to be aware that more rain is forecast overnight tonight (Thursday) which may affect people planning to travel on State Highway 1 through Kaikōura.
The NZ Transport Agency will remove the cordons on State Highway 25 north of Thames at 6pm today (Wednesday 10 January), with light traffic able to use the road without the need for convoys.
The NZ Transport Agency advises that State Highway 16 between Lincoln Road and Westgate will be closed to traffic overnight over the next three weekends. The closures will allow demolition of old bridge structures that cross the motorway at Royal Road and Huruhuru Road.
Queenstown drivers may experience some queuing at the new Kawarau Falls bridge from this week as the heritage bridge, which has taken northbound traffic over the busy holiday period, closes permanently to motorised traffic. From this week, all road users will travel on the new Kawarau Falls bridge, part of State Highway 6, through Frankton.
