The NZ Transport Agency has selected a preferred option for a new State Highway 3 route to replace the closed Manawatū Gorge, connecting the Manawatū, Tararua District, Hawke’s Bay and northern Wairarapa regions.
NZ Transport Agency Project Manager Chris Collins says most of the realignment of State Highway 73 at Mingha Bluff is already being enjoyed by commuters but re-work of the seal will continue as weather allows over autumn and spring.
The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists travelling to Auckland Airport on State Highway 20A of plans for a big weekend of work on the Landing Drive roundabout 16 – 20 March.
A short detour will be in place for people travelling north on State Highway 1 between Mosgiel and Dunedin from 6pm tonight (Friday, 9 March) until 7pm on Sunday, 11 March, to allow contractors to work on a safety upgrade.
The North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery team (NCTIR) has closed State Highway 1 between Peketa, south of Kaikōura, and the Leader Road*, near Parnassus, this afternoon.
