Waka Kotahi has re-opened SH35 between Gisborne and Te Puia Springs, but motorists are advised to take extra care when driving in the area with conditions still affected by yesterday’s heavy rain in the region.
Waka Kotahi is advising motorists of the emergency overnight closure of a section of SH35 due to surface flooding caused by today’s heavy rain in the region.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday 18 October 2022.
A project to upgrade a culvert in Roxburgh, Central Otago, has finished ahead of schedule and the road will reopen tomorrow afternoon – Friday, 11 November 2022.

Update: The planned two-day closure of SH1 Desert Road between Rangipo and Waiouru will be extended to a third day, as work is taking a little longer than we’d anticipated. This will see the road closed between 7am and 5pm on Friday 11 November.
