High winds, possible short-notice state highway closures, flooding and fallen debris should be expected when travelling around both Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne regions.
High wind and steady rain is impacting roads around the Coromandel Peninsula with State Highway 25 (SH25) compromised by multiple fallen trees, surface flooding and other debris on the road. The highway is fully closed in some sections.

SH1 Brynderwyn Hills to Waipu will re-open in both directions for all traffic including over-dimension vehicles from 8am tomorrow, Friday 10 February.
