With the first long weekend since February, Waka Kotahi is expecting higher than usual traffic volumes over Easter weekend, as many holiday makers make the most of an extended break and take the chance to travel.
The details below outline the main planned state highway roadworks occurring in the greater Wellington region and the top of the South Island over the coming week (9 April 2023).
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 14 April 2023. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
Road users in the top of the South Island need to be aware of two crashes, one on State Highway 1 and the other on State Highway 6, that will affect travel in Marlborough and Tasman.
