The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) has today announced the details of an approximate $800 million programme of investment in Bay of Plenty's land transport system over the next three years. The 2012-15 National Land Transport Programme (NLTP) aims to improve the efficiency and safety of Bay of Plenty's roading network, maximise freight movements and reduce deaths and serious injuries on the roads.
The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) expects that State Highway 29 (SH29) at Ruahihi Bluffs will be fully reopened following a final inspection tomorrow morning after the blasting work to remove a column of unstable rock was successfully completed on Saturday.
(UPDATE 6pm 25 August 2012: State Highway 29 is now open to one lane. The Sunday work is cancelled.) The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) would like to remind drivers that State Highway 29 at Ruahihi Bluffs, west of Tauranga will be closed for most of this weekend from 7.00am to 6.00pm on Saturday (25 August) and Sunday (26 August). This section of the road will reopen on Saturday night with the works expected to be completed by Sunday night at 6.00pm.
The NZ Transport Agency reopened State Highway 29 at Ruahihi Bluffs, west of Tauranga, at 5.00pm today with the closure of the road tomorrow cancelled, the agency says this section of the road will remain open to a single lane for the rest of the week.
The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) says State Highway 29 (SH29) at Ruahihi Bluffs is to be closed this weekend so that rocks can be removed to minimise the risk of further rock falls onto the state highway.
