State Highway 6 will remain at one lane under Stop/Go traffic controls and a 30 km/h temporary speed limit at the Whangamoa Hill slip site until the end of this week.
A programme of safety improvements involving flexible median barriers and turnaround bays, is now complete on State Highway 1 between Cambridge and Piarere.
UPDATE 9:00pm
NZTA can confirm that one lane southbound is now open on State Highway 1 between Bombay and Ramarama. A temporary 50 km/h speed restriction is in place along this section.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is urging drivers around Taranaki to be extra cautious on the roads over the next two days with a heavy rain warning and watch in place.
Work has now been confirmed to begin next month on the rebuild and reseal of a stretch of State Highway 3 at Burgess Park just south of New Plymouth.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday 16 September and expected to run for approximately 8 weeks.
The Takitimu North Link project continues to carve impressively through the landscape with the focus shifting to major works at Fifteenth Ave, State Highway 29, and Minden Road, Te Puna key sites from spring.
UPDATE 1:45 pm:
State Highway 58 is now open in both directions between Joseph Banks Drive and James Cook Drive. Localised flooding and a slip that earlier affected the route have been cleared.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising road users that due to ongoing rockfall risk and poor weather forecast through the coming week, the SH73 route between the West Coast and Canterbury will continue to close overnight from 5.30pm to 8am this week, opening subject to inspection.
