15 March update #2: Due to forecast strong winds the road closure planned for Thursday, 16 March has also been cancelled. Revised State Highway 2 closure times for this operation will be provided when they have been finalised.
Waitangi Bridge on SH51 between Napier and Clive will close overnight this week (Tuesday 7 – Friday 10 March) for work to further secure the gas pipeline which is attached to the underside of the bridge.
Waka Kotahi is advising that SH25 between Hikuai and Whangamata has re-opened for light vehicle use only, under stop-go traffic management. Drivers should expect delays while contractors continue working to stabilise the road and widen the surface.
