The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 15 February.
The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises drivers there will be diversions on the Northern Gateway Toll Road (State Highway 1) next Tuesday and Wednesday (12 and 13 February) because of annual maintenance and safety work in the Johnstones Hill tunnels.
State Highway 30 (SH30) Ruato Bay will be closed this Sunday night (10 February 2013) for three consecutive nights so investigations can be carried out to determine an effective solution to stabilise the cliff face which caused a large slip last year and reduced a section of this road to one lane.
The NZ Transport Agency are about to get started on more improvements at Ngauranga to keep traffic flowing smoothly and safely, particularly during the evening peak.
Motorists travelling along State Highway 29 (SH29) at Matapihi between Te Maunga (Bay Park) and the Maungatapu Bridge and also adjacent to State Highway 2 (SH2) on the the Waihi Road On Ramp are advised to expect delays as annual resurfacing works are being undertaken at these sites from Sunday 10 February through to Tuesday 12 February.

As part of its ongoing safety programme, the NZ Transport Agency is making further improvements on State Highway 2 over the Rimutaka Hill. Over the next four months approximately 3.5km of guardrail will be constructed at a number of locations over the Rimutaka Hill at a cost of $918,000.
