The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Motorists travelling on the Auckland Harbour Bridge and some nearby sections of the city’s motorway network will experience changes this Sunday morning (15 November) for the annual “Bike the Bridge” event.
The NZ Transport Agency’s Taramakau Bridge cycling and walking clip-on should be completed in just over a month, ready for the summer holiday cyclists. The clip-on is designed to fill the gap until a new road bridge with a dedicated cycle and pedestrian lane is built.
The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to be aware of changes underway soon on State Highway 1 between Raumati and Mackays Crossing as preparatory work begins on the Raumati Straights section of the Mackays to Peka Peka Expressway.
Major repairs on the HouHou bridge, north of Hokitika, will begin next week, 16 November and take until Monday, 21 December. Scaffolding may be erected by the end of this week (ie by 13 November) and preliminary work can start next week.

The NZ Transport Agency will start work on Monday, 16 November, repairing running boards on the Rakaia Gorge Bridge, inspecting the bridge’s steel truss support from the bridge deck and installing new kerbs on the bridge.
