Road works on the Te Rapa Section of the Waikato Expressway are now complete with no further diversions or speed restrictions in place.
The second coat of chip seal was laid on the section last week.
The NZ Transport Agency, Waikato Expressway Principal Project Manager Richard Young says the section has now been swept and road marked.
"Speed restrictions and diversions which were in place last week have been lifted but motorists should still be aware of any loose chips which may still be on the surface as the seal settles."
Mr Young says the sealing work carried out last week is part of the planned stages to finish the road surface. The second coat is applied before the first winter to ensure the road is water proof before the final seal is applied.
"We’d like to thank motorists again for their patience while this work has been undertaken," Mr Young says.
