Work will get underway next week to complete the extension of a slow vehicle bay at Waikoau Hill on State Highway 2, 1km south of Lake Tūtira.
From Monday 15 August, contractors will be installing erosion protection on the cliff faces and completing the drainage and pavement works to extend the slow vehicle bay to a length of 360 metres.
Between 7:00am and 7:00pm, a 30km/h speed reduction and stop/go traffic management will be in place, with delays of up to five minutes are expected. After 7:00pm, the shoulder will remain closed and a reduced speed limit of 50-70km/h will be in place.
The project is expected to take around seven weeks to complete, and will run until Friday 7 October.
