The North Shore community is invited to view the latest design and construction plans for the State Highway 1 Northern Corridor Improvements project.
The project team is hosting an open day at the visitor hub on Saturday 28 July at the project’s Rosedale office.
NZ Transport Agency Senior Manager Project Delivery, Chris Hunt, says the hub gives people great access to the latest maps and information as well as details about work coming up in the area that will impact their daily journeys.
“Since the start of the project, it has been a priority to talk and listen to affected neighbours and businesses in the community so they know what will be happening during construction ahead of time. This is important for people travelling in and around the Rosedale industrial area.”
An updated flythrough animation will also be shown including the improved design from Paul Matthews Road to the Unsworth Heights suburb. The Northern Busway station features between Constellation and Albany will also be available.
The Northern Corridor Improvements project will provide a much needed transport upgrade for the whole Albany and North Harbour community. It includes a new motorway connection between SH1 and SH18 and will open up access to the Western Ring Route and travel to the airport.
The open day will take place from 10am-3pm on Saturday 28 July at 10 Rothwell Avenue, Rosedale on the North Shore. The hub will then be open during the week Monday to Friday from 9am-4.30pm.
The project started construction in April this year and is being delivered by the Northern Corridor Improvements Alliance made up of the NZ Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan, HEB Construction, Opus and Jacobs.
