Urgent repairs SH6 Te Hoiere/Pelorus River Bridge, Marlborough District

|

Drivers who use State Highway 6 and the Te Hoiere/Pelorus River Bridge in Marlborough should be ready for delays of up to one hour next week, Wednesday night, 12 December.

Work to replace the concrete deck planks of the bridge will start from 10 pm, says the NZ Transport Agency. The crew will be aiming to have the work completed by 6 am Thursday.

The work involves removal of the existing temporary steel plate and replacing the damaged concrete deck planks, which will require several one-hour road closures over the night.

In between the road closures, the road will be re-opened to allow waiting traffic to clear. A 30km/hour speed restriction will be in place through the work area at all times.

Electronic signs will be installed at Rai Valley and Havelock to give drivers warning of the road closure/delays ahead.

The Transport Agency advises people to allow extra time for the journey while this work is underway and thanks everyone for their co-operation while this repair is completed.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey this summer. Keep up to date with:
