Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises the following night-time closures of State Highway 25.
A planned closure for Kereta Hill tonight is no longer needed. Work was completed ahead of schedule and the site is back to full access.
Note: We took advantage of this closure to carry out maintenance work and additional cyclone damage repairs.
From Sunday 21 May to Tuesday 23 May, SH25 will closed overnight between from 8pm until 11pm and from midnight until 5am for three nights.
Traffic will be allowed through the site between 11pm and midnight each night.
Emergency service vehicles can be given access at any time.
The closure is between Manaia and Te Kouma Road is to allow the team to smooth the road surface which was damaged by slips that occurred during Cyclone Gabrielle, giving it more resilience through winter.
