People should take State Highway 45 or delay travel if feasible during these times. Alternative local road routes are available but may not be suitable for all vehicles. People are urged to plan their journey before travelling.
A full road closure is required to ensure the safety of both road users and our crews. The road at this location is curved and narrow, and crews will be working on both sides of the road at the same time, so Stop/Go traffic management is not possible.
Waka Kotahi acknowledges these works will cause disruption and thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation while these important works to improve the safety and reliability of the highway are completed.
In the event of wet weather, works will be postponed to the next available fine day.
