The NZ Transport Agency is continuing its commitment to improving workplace health and safety by awarding zero harm scholarships to four recipients in the roading construction industry.
The four recipients are Damien McNamara from Southroads; Steven Jones at Auckland Transport; Geoffrey Wineera, Well Connected Alliance; and Carol Inder, Edridge Consulting.
“The calibre of scholarship applicants was exceptionally high”, says Martin McMullan, the Transport Agency’s Zero Harm Manager.
“There was a real sense of people in the industry wanting to play a part in providing tangible improvements towards New Zealand’s health and safety performance.”
“We now have four dedicated professionals from New Zealand that have signed up to building a zero harm culture within our industry so that everyone can go home safe and healthy every day.”

The scholarships offer a 12 month opportunity to develop competent and qualified safety professionals. Each scholarship will include fully funded course and examination fees associated with an International Certificate from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), peer mentoring and work experience.
