Traffic management in place this Easter/Anzac break on SH29
approach to Kaimai Range

|

Motorists travelling along State Highway 29 via the Kaimai Range towards Tauranga are advised that the road is reduced to two lanes at the base on the Hamilton side of the Kaimai Range and a speed restriction of 50 km/h is also in place this Easter/Anzac holiday.

NZ Transport Agency’s Regional Performance Manager Karen Boyt says, this temporary traffic management will be in place as workers are still in the process of completing road resurfacing works which have been delayed due to the heavy rain recently.

“We ask drivers to take care and to drive to the posted temporary speed limit of 50km/h. Also as there are only two lanes open from the base of the Kaimai Range to just before the summit, drivers travelling in both directions need to be aware that passing along this section is not possible. We ask that drivers please be patient during this part of their journeys" says Ms Boyt.

“We apologise for the inconvenience, and thank drivers for their patience until we are able to complete this work which is likely to be after the Easter/Anzac break.
