The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists of the following road works which may impact their journeys in the region next week.
The final asphalt surface will be applied on the 3.5km chip seal section of the Toll Road. Work will take place Monday 16 – Friday 20 November between the Domain Road interchange and the Kaituna River bridge.
Drivers can expect minor delays with a 50km/h speed restriction between 6am and 6pm and 80km/h between 6pm and 6am.
Drivers have the option to use the Te Puke Highway as an alternative route.
Speed restrictions and shoulder closures will be in place between Old Tauranga Road and Athenree for next two weeks as fibre optic cabling works are carried out. Minimal delays expected.
Inspection and maintenance works will be carried out from 17 - 20 November between 7pm and 6am. Lane closures will be in place and minimal delays are expected.
Resealing works on SH35 will start on Tuesday 17 November. There are five sites across the entire length from Opotiki to Whangaparaoa, with a particularly major site at Waikawa, east of Te Kaha. Motorists are advised to allow an extra 10 minutes when travelling this route.
