Three weeks of rockfall stabilisation work Kawarau Gorge, SH6

|

With the successful blast at the Nevis Bluff last week, the team removing rocks in Queenstown Lakes District has completed that section of work a week early, says NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).

“This means they can get back to the Bungy Bluff in the Kawarau Gorge next week to complete rockwall meshing there,” says Peter Standring, Maintenance Contract Manager for NZTA in Central Otago.

Works starts Monday, 10 June for three weeks to the end of June, at the Kawarau River bridge, between Gibbston and Arrow Junction.

NZTA thanks all SH6 Otago road users for their patience while this work is underway.
