Commuters heading into Wellington’s CBD can expect delays this morning following an incident that closed the southbound lanes of State Highway 1 through the Terrace tunnel.

The protest has been cleared and the tunnel is fully open.
Drivers can expect some delays as congestion and queued traffic eases.

The closure is due to a protest - Police are at the scene.
Drivers heading into the city will need to use an alternative route – such as the Aotea and Murphy Street offramps.
