From early January 2015, a short section of the northbound lanes of State highway 1 near Lookout Point in Dunedin, will be down to one traffic lane for up to six days.
A single lane will operate sometime prior to 8am on Monday 5 January 2015 and may need to stay in place until Sunday 11 January 2015.
The lane reduction is required, so important pavement re-construction work can be carried out on a 100 metre section of the north bound highway lanes, at a site close to the Lookout Point Fire Station.
The Transport Agency says once work is underway, single lane traffic flow through the construction site has to remain in place until the job is completed.
During this period, the Transport Agency encourages motorists travelling into the city to use Kaikorai Valley Road.
To minimise disruptions for road users, the work is being done at a time, when traffic volumes on this section of highway are traditionally at their lowest levels.
The Transport Agency regrets any inconvenience for motorists from this job, and other work that will occur over the next three or four months, as the Caversham Highway Safety Improvement project enters its final stages.
