The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) says heavy rain overnight has caused damage to the recent work carried out at the State Highway 2/Domain Road intersection, part of the Tauranga Eastern Link project.
Repair work is currently underway, motorists are asked to drive with caution and to expect delays.
The NZTA thanks motorists for their patience and co-operation during these works.
