A stretch of State Highway 54 at Oroua River Bridge (Aorangi) in Feilding will be closing for 3 nights later this month for a range of maintenance work.
A signposted detour will be in place during the night-time closure, suitable for all vehicles.
The work will take place between 7pm and 6am on Sunday 22, Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 September (weather permitting) and includes asphalt resurfacing and drainage improvement work.
Resurfacing the road will improve its durability, resilience and ultimately the safety for all road users.
During this work, the detour will be as follows:
The detour route is expected to add an additional 5-10 minutes to your journey time. During the day, the road will be open with a 30km/h temporary speed limit in place.
Crews will return to this area for road maintenance work on SH54 near the intersections of South Street and East Street. This work will be communicated at a later date.
