A short stretch of State Highway 3 (SH3), south of Piopio is down to one lane following a rockfall earlier today.
Stop/go traffic management is in place at the site and motorists are advised to expect short delays.
The NZ Transport Agency said the rock fall was minor, however the lane closure will remain in place as a safety precaution until a site assessment can be carried out.
The rockfall is at Mangaotaki North, and is unrelated to the work to install a steel net into the bluffs at Mangaotaki South.
