The NZ Transport Agency is advising drivers that SH73, the main road to the West Coast, has reopened. There was a half hour closure due to a truck and trailer getting stuck on the Otira side of the pass.
Snow is continuing to fall on SH73 and chains are essential for the alpine pass. “We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused,” said Transport Agency Journey Manager Lee Wright.
