State Highway 6 partial closure needed for Nelson City Council culvert works.

|

Nelson drivers heading south on State Highway 6, Whakatu Drive, will need to find an alternative route at the beginning of next week.

The southbound lane of the highway will be closed between 7.30 pm and 6 am Monday and Tuesday nights (31 July and 1 August). The closure is between the Nayland/Saxton Road off-ramp and the Salisbury Road/State Highway 6 roundabout.

SH6 southbound lane closure zone:

The lane closure is needed for ongoing Saxton Culvert upgrade work being carried out by the Nelson City Council. Contractors will be using a crane to lift materials into place and must use the southbound lane of the highway to do this.

This partial closure of State Highway 6, Whakatu Drive, will create some delays for southbound traffic. Drivers should factor this into their travel plans. The northbound lane will remain open to all traffic.

Further details about these works can be obtained from the Nelson City Council.
