The NZ Transport Agency confirms that SH25 at Ruamahunga Bay is now open to two lanes of traffic.
NZTA Regional Operations Manager Trevor Fearnley says, "Our contractors have been working very hard to clear all Coromandel Peninsula highways by the weekend. The slip on SH25 at Ruamahunga Bay has been substantially cleared and two lanes are now open."
Another slip is being cleared at Waikawau Bay to allow two lanes of traffic to travel through the slip site over the weekend. SH25 will be reduced to one lane again on Monday to allow contractors to finish repairs at this site.
Mr Fearnley asks that motorists take extra care when traveling throughout the Coromandel Peninsula.
Information on the road conditions in the area can be obtained by phoning 0800 4HIGHWAYS or on the highway information section of the NZTA web site.
