State Highway 2 is closed in Upper Hutt, north of the Akatarawa Road intersection, following a serious crash
Update 6:15 PM:
State Highway 2 is now open to all traffic.
Drivers can expect some delays as queued traffic clears.
Waka Kotahi wants to thank drivers for their patience and cooperation while contractors and emergency services have worked hard to clear the crash scene.
Update 2:30 PM:
The Police Serious Crash Unit is attending, and the highway will remain closed while it investigates the incident
The closure is expected to continue until early this evening - Drivers can expect significant delays travelling through the area until the Police investigation is complete and the crash scene is cleared.
Traffic is currently being diverted via Mangaroa Hill Rd, Parkes Line Rd, Maymorn Rd.
