State Highway 1 (SH1) traffic travelling between Auckland and Hamilton will be detoured on to local roads while passing through Huntly tomorrow night.
The NZ Transport Agency says a section of SH1 at Huntly will be closed from 8pm Thursday February 12 until 5am the following day to allow contractors to work on a rail crossing.
A signposted detour will be in place during the closure and will take southbound traffic via:
(North-bound traffic in reverse)
The work is subject to fine weather and a contingency date of Sunday, February 22 has been set aside.
The Transport Agency thanks motorists in advance for their patience and understanding, and apologises for any inconvenience this work and detour may cause.
