Crews worked through the night to clear the slip with traffic still being able to travel through the area through a single lane that was kept open throughout the clearing process.
The road has been fully open since this morning and the slip material has been completely cleared, motorists planning to travelling to Taupo to compete in the Taupo Cycle Challenge held this weekend will be able to reach their destination without any problems, says the Transport Agency.
The NZ Transport Agency says all other roads to Taupo are also fully open at this time.
