Drivers travelling between Wellington and Wairarapa can expect delays as road crews clear a slip on State Highway 2, Remutaka Hill.
Update 7:20 pm:
Contractors have cleared the slip and the road is now open in both directions. Drivers may experience some delays as queued traffic clears.
3.20pm:
Slip, SH2 Remutaka Hill.
The slip is on the Featherston side of the hill and is blocking one lane – it was reported around 2:45 this afternoon.
Contractors are on-site and working to clear the road. This is expected to take several hours.
Stop/Go traffic controls are in place, meaning drivers will experience delays when travelling through the affected area. Drivers travelling over the Remutaka Hill must factor extra time into their travel plans.
