Contractors began installing a new gas pipeline and fibre cable under Queenstown’s Shotover River bridge this week, affecting traffic movements from night to early morning – 8.00 pm to 6.30 am weekdays. The work may take until Friday 29 July.
'This work will involve reducing the bridge to a single lane over the night and early morning hours so drivers should anticipate short delays,' says NZ Transport Agency Journey Manager Graeme Hall.
The Transport Agency’s Opus consulting team in Queenstown are ensuring the bridge structure is protected throughout.
