Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising that State Highway 51 near Marine Parade is closed due to a serious crash.
Police are currently onsite undertaking their investigation into the crash, which could take several hours. During this time, the road will remain closed to traffic.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and take an alternative route.
