State Highway 3 is closed between Awakino and Mahoenui due to a slip.
Contractors are on-site clearing the road and hope to reopen this section of State Highway 3 later today.
In the meantime, people are asked to delay their journeys or consider alternate routes.
There is potential for other slips in this area and drivers are asked to drive to the conditions. This is a remote section of SH3 and it can take some time for our contractors to get resources for clean-up to site.
