The NZ Transport Agency says State Highway 29 to Te Poi is fully open and SH25 at Whanagapoua Hill between Whitianga and the Coromandel is also open to one lane.
Traffic is now starting to flow through both of these roads, the Transport Agency says it will take a while for the built-up traffic to clear, drivers are asked to take care and patience is required until traffic starts to flow freely again.
The NZ Transport Agency’s website is regularly updated with information about most closures and detours at www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic(external link). This information is also available by phoning the Transport Agency’s free phone on 0800 4HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49), which can also be used to report any significant road issues or hazards.
Coincidently, drivers can now subscribe to On The Move which is a free service providing information about road closures, road works and driving conditions on their frequently used routes - to sign up, go to www.onthemove.govt.nz(external link).
