SH29 is back to two lanes on the Matamata side of the Kaimais this afternoon, following the successful removal of a truck today which crashed off the left hand east-bound lane last night.
NZ Transport Agency State Highway Manager, Brett Gliddon, says there were no significant delays for motorists using the temporary single lane setup while contractors removed the truck.
"This was assisted by traffic not being particularly heavy during that time. The considerate and cautious behaviour of motorists using the temporary single lane was also a major factor in this exercise going smoothly and we appreciate their efforts and patience around that."
Mr Gliddon says warning signs will remain in place either side of the crash site as the left hand crawler lane has been sectioned off with barriers and cones until a guard rail can be replaced. "However this is not expected to affect traffic flow through the two lanes in the meantime."
