State Highway 2 through the Karangahake Gorge will be closed overnight for resurfacing on Tuesday 23 October and Thursday 25 October. The work is weather dependent.
Signs and detours will be in place alerting motorists in Paeroa at the western end of the gorge and Waihi at the eastern end.
Two detours will be in one place, one north to SH25 and the other south to SH29.
The closure will be in place from 8pm to 5.30am on both nights while the old asphalt is milled out and new asphalt laid. If the weather is poor, new dates for the work will be advised.
